The second week in September is Howard City's annual Scarecrow Contest. All the area businesses are asked to create a display for the contest and this year we chose to use the theme "What we do in the community with the Harvest Festival" Firstbank worked with that theme and created their display around it... "Harvesting what we plant in our community" The displays are judged by the Harvest Festival Queens Court who present the top display with winning recognition. So if you are driving through Howard City the second week in September be sure to look for the area scarecrow displays.
Firstbank proudly supports all of the youth involved in the Gratiot County Fair for Youth! Each year during fair week, Firstbank makes a donation to the Gratiot County 4-H Leaders Council. This enables the Leaders Council to fund grants to help many 4-H members attend camps and take special trips throughout the year.
